Anyone who shopped in a brick-and-mortar store in the USA between November 27th and December 15th is potentially at risk. Target.com shoppers were not affected. If you made a purchase with a credit and/or debit card at a Target store during that time, you should check your credit card statements immediately.
Target has officially confirmed that up to 40 million of its customers could be victims to a major security breach. Unfortunately, little else seems to be known about the hack at this point, though Target assures that both the authorities and any involved financial institutions have been alerted to the situation.
