  • Detect and Remove DNSChanger Trojan Malware before it’s too late!

Computers infected with the “DNSChanger” Trojan virus will cease all Internet access on July 9, 2012. Landmark Techs want to remind you to perform the following procedures that will help you detect and remove the “DNSChanger” malware from your computer before it’s too late! All of these tools are free and provided by the experts at the DCWG (DNSChanger Working Group) and McAfee Security.

    Detect.
Very simple process, just visit www.dns-ok.us. There is no installation required and will tell you in a matter of seconds whether your computer is infected or not. If you see an image with a Green background and you see “DNS Resolution = Green; Your computer appears to be looking up IP Address correctly” at the bottom of the page, this means that you’re OK! No further action is required.

    Remove.
However, if you are infected, www.dns-ok.us should give you a list of steps to perform in order to get rid of the “DNSChanger” Trojan. The steps can be found here: http://www.dcwg.org/fix/.
You also have another option which is to run a fixer program that should remove DNSChanger and related threats automatically. One of them is offered by McAfee, called Stinger.
